First day of school is August 10, 2022.

To ensure that students are ready for class on the first day of school, all students are required to attend orientation the week before school starts. During orientation, students will receive their class lists, see counselors for schedule errors only (if they did not fill in the Course Request Corrections Google Form sent on 7/15), take their ID pictures (used as yearbook pictures for all students except seniors), get locker information, and textbooks. Students will meet at the main gate and be checked in by our campus security team. Students must leave campus immediately once they complete orientation. To adhere to the current health guidelines all students must wear a mask, we also ask that they do not bring friends or family members with them and they follow the schedule below:

Students who are unable to attend their assigned orientation day can attend a make-up session on Friday, Aug 5, from 8:00 – 11:00 AM and 12:00 – 3:00 PM.
*Wednesday, August 10 will follow a minimum day schedule.

Book Senior Portrait Appointment
The 2023 James Logan Yearbook will be on sale for a special promotional price of $80 ($70 with ASB) at the start of school through November 1. After November 1, the price will increase to $100 ($90 with ASB) and be available to order until January 31, 2023. There will be NO additional books ordered after January 31st, so pre-order early to ensure that your student receives their yearbook. Yearbooks can be ordered online on yearbookordercenter.com using school code 7729.

Students new to New Haven Unified School District will need to pick a Chromebook from the Book Room at the campus.
All Students new to New Haven Unified School District will be issued a Chromebook before the start of school. New students must have a parent or guardian fill out the Student Mobile Device Google Form in order to obtain a Chromebook.

For 2022/23 school year, the replacement cost of the Chromebook is $285. It is highly recommended that students purchase insurance. Insurance will be required if students lost/damaged a Chromebook and a 2nd Chromebook needs to be issued.

All students/parents will be given a copy of the mobile device handbook when they receive a new Chromebook. It is important that all students and parents review the handbook.

New Haven Unified School District’s Board Policy allows the release of students’ names and addresses to organizations which request such a list – unless you specify in writing that you do not want your student’s name included.
Some organizations which might request such information are: accredited schools and colleges, scholarship & financial aid agencies, the United States Military, local and state law enforcement agencies, prospective employers and school district parent organizations.
If you do not want your student’s name included in any list furnished to a requesting organization, please submit your request at jameslogan.org/optout.
