SPORTS 

    Are you interested in joining the wrestling team?  If so, there will be a sign up meeting next Thursday, Sept. 21 in the weight room after school, please note the change of date.  If you're not in a fall sports, it is important that you attend the meeting. If you have any questions, please see Coach Bagaoisan.  

Attention soccer enthusiasts anyone interested in playing soccer this year at Logan.  Open fields will begin every Tuesday and Thursday after school at 3:30in the North Field.  Please stop by and speak to Coach Ibarra for further details.

Last call for Cross Country runners.  Get in shape, see Coach Webb on the Track after school.    

Come test your physical limits.  Ghebray Invitational Cross Country Invitational, Saturday September 23 at Quarry Lakes 5:00 a.m. Free to Logan students and staff.  Proceeds support Hurricane victims.

The sophomore boys Cross Country won the Farmer Invitational this past Saturday.  Maiko Mims and Melody Fewx won their races.  Jackson Harper, Rylie Harper and Sagar Bringas had great performances.

CLUB       

The et Folkle hational meeting o Of Books and Pens Club is accepting book donations for its annual Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover Fair. Please bring book donations to Room 207.

Do you want to earn community service hours while making new friends? Do you want to develop leadership skills and attend FLC, one of the largest leadership conferences? Come out to interact club Wednesday during both lunches at room 525! There'll be free snacks and goodies for everyone.

Stop by the Youth Alive Table today at lunch for a free Otter Pop and to find out more about the Youth Alive Christian Club.

Parlez-vous français?  You don't have to speak or be taking a French class to join the French Club.  Please come to our first meeting on Thursday, September 21st, in Room 310.

Come to the first Close Up meeting today after school to learn about the trip to Washington, D.C. and the Close Up program.  If you like discussing current events and politics, this is the Club for you!                                                                                                                                       

MISCELLANEOUS

Any students who participate in the Free/Reduced Lunch application program, please make sure to submit your Free/Reduced Lunch application for this year before October 10.  Please note that the application has to be completed every year.  Visit the Logan website, click on Student Resources under the Resources navigation menu at the top to learn more about additional benefits and to submit your application on line.

The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 during the school day. All JLHS sophomores are given the test at no cost (DO NOT BUY a Ticket). There will be a few extra tests ordered for other Logan Students. These tickets can be bought on line. Tickets will also go on sale at the student window Tuesdays and Thursdays at both lunches beginning Sept. 26 - Oct. 17, 2017. Please contact Ms. Hull, House 2 Principal, if you have any questions.

You can pick up SAT fee waivers in House 2 from Ms. Hull. ACT waivers have not arrived yet. An email will be sent out or a notice in the bulletin when they do arrive.

When taking the SAT or ACT please remember to bring your ticket and ID. ID can be your current school ID, driver's license, or passport. You must actually have the ID on you, not a picture on your phone.

School Year Work Permits Application for 2017-2018 School Year are now available in the Career Center in Colt Necessities Store area, in each House Office, Main Office and on the James Logan website. Once completed, return the Work Permit application with a signed coy of your Social security Card to Mr.Richberg in room #63 during 4th period ONLY for processing.

ASB stickers will be sold at the ticket window by the front office form $25.

All lunch applications need to be turned in BEFORE October 10, if they are not submitted you will be put into PAID status this means you have to pay $4.00 for your lunch.

You can pick up SAT fee waivers in House 2 from Ms. Hull. ACT waivers have not arrived yet. An email will be sent out or a notice in the bulletin when they do arrive.

When taking the SAT or ACT please remember to bring your ticket and ID. ID can be your current school ID, driver's license, or passport. You must actually have the ID on you, not a picture on your phone.

SPORTS  

  • This past weekend Junior, Hannah-Sophia Hall won individual NCS titles in both the Discus and the Shot Put with throws of 152' 7" and 43' 10" respectively..  Senior, Jered Espanola won an individual title in the Pole Vault clearing 15' 4".  Both will be traveling to Buchanan High School in Clovis this weekend to compete at the Track and Field state meet.  Junior, Demisha Simmons-Price will be joining them as an alternate in the shot put as well after placing 4th in the finals.  

  • In total our Track and Field team had 21 athletes place and/or make the finals in their events.  

CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)    

  • If you are taking Honors Physiology and/or AP Biology next year, please come to our brief informational meeting this Thursday or Friday after school in room 204. We look forward to meeting you!  

  • Attention students who are taking AP Physics 1 or AP Physics 2 next year: Your summer assignments will be posted on the school's website on Friday, June 9th. Please be sure to check there for details.

  •  Do you have books at home that you want to get rid of? Come by room 207 anytime between now and the end of the school year to donate books for Of Books and pen's Don't Judge a Book event! We will be accepting all books!

  • There is an important Announcement for all students who signed up for AP Chemistry next year.  There is an important meeting on Thursday May 25 at 3:30 in Mrs. Gallup’s Room 422.  Information about Summer Assignments will be discussed.  

  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year. 

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.  

  •  Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch.  This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • Come by room 223 if you have any questions! Yearbooks are still on sale for $85 with ASB and $95 without.  We are getting close to selling out, so do not wait until it is too late!

  • New Haven Adult School is having two - 3-day Driver's Education classes.  June 19th, 20th & 21st and August 7th, 8th & 9th.
