CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)    

  • Attention  all Latino Seniors, If you would like to participate in M.E.C  H A's raza graduation be sure to turn in your invitation letter to Ms.Esquivez  in room 407 today. If you did not receive an invitation but would like to be part of our celebration come to 407 to pick one up, all students are welcome to participate.

  • Come to BSU (Black Student Union) tomorrow after school in Room 529.  All student’s are welcome.    

  • Acts of Random Kindness will meet on Thursday in room 121. Check our Facebook page "JLHS Acts of Random Kindness' for updates!

  • The Youth Alive Christian Club meets every Thursday after school in Room 418.  Bible Study is every Friday during both lunches in Room 418.

  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year. 

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.  

  • Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch. This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch.

  • Do you drive to school?  Then remember that all yellow parking spots are for staff only, with a valid parking permit clearly visible.  Any cars parked in yellow spots during the entire school day that do not have a valid Logan parking permit visible can be issued a parking ticket by UCPD, or towed at the owner's expense. 

  • Students: you are invited to attend College Night for all parents and students on Tuesday, April 11 at 5:45pm to 8:00 pm in the Center for Performing Arts.  This presentation is designed for juniors but all grade levels are welcomed. Please attend to receive information about 4 year and 2 year college requirements and financial aid.  College representatives from the UC, CSU, community college and private universities will be presenting information about their respective college system.  In addition, they will be available to answer your questions.  Come at 5:45pm to have a slice of pizza before the event begins!  Stay until the end for a chance to win a $500 scholarship! Three scholarships will be awarded.  We hope you can attend.

NO prior Chinese learning experience is required to take Chinese 1 class.  For further info about Chinese course, please visit myzhongwen.net or drop by at Room 313 to talk with Ms. Du.  Anyone who has some prior Chinese learning experience but not sure which level of Chinese class to sign up, please come to take a placement test with Ms. Du at Room 313 after school

  • The Ballet Folklórico will sponcer an All-Pro Wrestling Event Saturday April 22nd in the Guy Emanuele Pavilon. Former Logan student, Joey Gaytan, "AKA", TMD will be one of the headliners!. Ring Side $20 and $15 regular admission. For more information and tickets contact WWW.ALLPROWRESTLING.COM or see Mr. Huertas in the Dance Studio after school every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

  • The Ballet Folklórico will be having its annual Concierto de Primavera (Spring Dance Concert) Friday May 12th 8pm in the Center of the Performing Arts. They will be premiering new dances from various regions of Mexico. Live music will be provided by Mariachi and Puerto Rican Folklórico musicians. Two local children groups will also perform. Tickets will be reserve seating this year; Adults $20; $15 Senior Citizens; $12 for students with I.D. and $10 for children under 12 years.  Please contact Jaime Huertas by emailing him at Logan or personal email<salsahuertas@yahoo.com> More information on the website.

  • CHOIR AUDITIONS!!  Auditions for the 2018 Choirs will be held in the Choir Room (721) beginning at 3:30 pm on April 17, April 20th and April 21st.   Auditions for Advanced Concert Choir and Jazz Singers will be on April 17. Be prepared to sing a one minute audition song. Auditions for Show Choir will be on April 20 and April 21st. You will also sing a one minute audition song and learn choreography.   • Ladies, do you still need a dress for prom?  No need to go too far! Logan's princess club has hundreds of new and slightly used prom dresses available for you at no cost. Bring a friend! The closet is in the old choir room, inside of the little theater building. It will be open on Wednesday and Fridays after school.   • New Haven Adult School is offering 28 hours of Driver's Education during Spring Break, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday , April  3rd, 4th & 5th. Cost is $125. Registration forms are located in the front office and each of the house offices. For more information or to register call the Adult School at (510) 489-2185.

  • Congratulations to Logan soccer stars Zinet Siddiqi and Vanessa Mejia. Zinet recently competed for the women’s National team of Afghanistan at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) tournament held in Kanchanjuna, Shiliguri, Inda.  Zinet was a starter and an impact player for all of the games played at the Kanchenjunga Stadium, which has a capacity of 30 thousand fans. Vanessa was recently selected to the Elite Club National League Player Development Program National Training Camp, held in Portland Oregon. This is a very prestigious honor that girls from the best clubs and teams from all over the United States were invited to. Also included in this event were current U.S. youth national team U-18 members, NSCAA All American players and Parade Magazine High School.

  •  Seniors do you want Senior Quotes to be added to this year's yearbook?  We have a challenge for you! If we sell 300 more yearbooks in the next two weeks, we will add Senior Quotes! CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)     

Come out to Colt Court during both lunches on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to nominate teacher favorites and Senior favorites! After we get all of our top nominees we will be voting next week! 

 Seniors do you want Senior Quotes to be added to this year's yearbook?  We have a challenge for you! If we sell 300 more yearbooks in the next two weeks, we will add Senior Quotes! Sales from all grades/staff members will count.The contest will end on 3/24. The quantity will be updated daily and posted in the yearbook cabinet located in the main hall. You can purchase a yearbook in room 223 during lunch every Monday, Wednesday and Friday or

Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch.     

Do you drive to school?  Then remember that all yellow parking spots are for staff only, with a valid parking permit clearly visible.  Any cars parked in yellow spots during the entire school day that do not have a valid Logan parking permit visible can be issued a parking ticket by UCPD, or towed at the owner's expense.  Please remember to park in the correct designated parking spots.

The New Haven Pilipino American Society for Education is proud to announce our annual scholarships for 2016-17.  These scholarships were established to support students of Filipino and Filipino-American descent, and their college endeavors. There are several scholarships available, each with different criteria, so come check out which ones fit you! Seniors can pick up an application from the House 3 office. The deadline to submit is March 24. 

Time is running out to purchase your yearbook! Please come to room 223 during your lunch Monday, Wednesday or Friday! We will also be at the student window every Friday during your lunch. Prices are $85 with ASB $95 without.

New Haven Adult School is offering 28 hours of Driver's Education during Spring Break, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday , April  3rd, 4th & 5th. Cost is $125. Registration forms are located in the front office and each of the house offices. For more information or to register call the Adult School at (510) 489-2185.

Mission College will be here to present on Monday, March 20 during 3rd period in the Career Center.  They are located in Santa Clara near Great America and Levi's Stadium.  Mission College's specialty programs include Nursing, Culinary Arts, Fire Technology, Floriculture, Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Mechanical Drafting, Printing & Lithography, Environmental Technology, Community Health Care Worker, Music, and Psychiatric Technician.
