Announcement 3/13/18

Do you want to know more about Filipino Culture?  Come to Room 414 Tuesday, after school.

Have you ever wanted to create or contribute to an open source project? If so, come to the Computer Science Club Thursday after school in room 475 at 3:30 pm. We will explore how you can use Git and Github. If you plan to attend, please create account on Github, if you have not already.

The Do Something Club is calling all students!  By now most of us have heard or seen on the news the school shooting in Parkland, Florida and what happened in Las Vegas. While most of us are still teenagers, we have witnessed and lived through countless of these tragedies. We do not want this to continue while innocent lives are lost because of loopholes in our system. Want change? Now’s your chance: Come to Colt court during your lunch period March 12- March 16 to write a letter to your California representatives and senators calling for better gun regulations and law reforms. Let your voices be heard.

Attention all students in AP classes.  If you are planning on taking AP exams this year, please make sure to purchase your AP exams now.  This year, the AP exams can be purchased directly in Q.  Please have your parents log into Parent Connect and buy the AP exams you are planning on taking.  AP exams are $95 per exam.  Students who are on Free or Reduced Lunch Program only pay $5.00 per exam.  When your parents log into Parent Connect, they will see the price you are eligible for.  Students are strongly encouraged to use the option to purchase via Parent Connect.  Please go to jameslogan.org/aporder to see more details.  You can find the same link under the "Academics" navigation menu at the top of our website.  Again, the deadline for all AP Exam orders is March 12.

When taking the SAT or ACT please remember to bring your ticket and ID. ID can be your current school ID, driver's license, or passport. You must actually have the ID on you, not a picture on your phone.

Did you know that all James Logan High students who are eligible for free or reduced meals are also eligible for a free bus pass that gives you unlimited rides on both AC Transit and Union City Transit? All you need to do is fill out and return a registration/consent form. See Mrs. Martin in the Logan Family Center for forms. This pass is a free Clipper card that lets you ride any AC Transit and Union City Transit bus at any time, as many times as you want! Do you think you’ve already registered this year, or perhaps you don’t remember? Have you lost your transit pass and need a new one? See Mrs. Martin and she can check to see if you’re already registered and give you instructions on how to replace your transit pass.

Buy your yearbook in room 223 during 4th period lunch or at the student window on Friday during both lunches. The price is $80 with ASB and $85 without. You can also purchase online at yearbookordercenter.com with the code 7729.
