Announcement 2/10/17


  • Good luck to the Logan Girls Wrestling Friday and Saturday at the North Coast Section Championships. The lady grapplers are trying to win their 5th consecutive NCS title. The top three finisher will qualify to the State meet in Visalia.

  •  Congratulations to the Varsity, JV and Girls wrestling team as they beat American on Wednesday night. The Varsity won 60-15, the JV won 55-12, and the girls won 30-0. The Colts won their 11th consecutive MVAL Title.

  • The varsity boys also qualified to Saturday's NCS Team Dual Championships in Berkeley.           


  •  District African American Advisory (DAAA) to Host Zumba Fundraiser Mark your calendars!  DAAA will host a Zumba Night to raise money for the Dream Scholarship tonight, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School (Multipurpose Room).  Join former Logan Teacher, Jacki Sprague and fellow instructors for an exciting event!  $10 cash at the door.  If you are unable to attend the event, you can still support the students with a donation using the New Haven Foundation PayPal (please specify "The Dream Scholarship").  Thank you in advance for the support.

CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)  

  •   Sophomores you took the PSAT now take the PreACT!  The test is on Wednesday, March 1st 8:15 a.m. and cost $15.  Sign up in House 3 with Mrs. Harper during your lunch or after school by February 24th.    


  • Punjabi Club is hosting Logan Lohri tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Little Theater.  Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $12 at the door.

  •  Logan's Gay Straight Alliance will show the second part of the Academy Award winning movie, The Imitation Game, today after school in Room 207. There will be free popcorn and soda.   As usual, all are welcome. Bring a friend and enjoy. 

  • The Youth Alive Bible Study is during both lunches in Room 418.  


  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year.

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.

  •  Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch.  This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • SAT/ACT mock practice test Saturday February 25 only $10, in the Old Band Room from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. See your counselor for more information! Registration deadline is Friday February 17.

  • Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch. 

  • East Bay Regional Park District is looking for Wildlife Volunteers if you are interested call Doc Quack (Certified Wildlife Biologist) at 510-544-2319 or docquack@ebparks.org.  You can pick up a flyer in the Main Office.
