Announcement 2/16/17


  •   Congratulations to the varsity girls’ soccer team who won their second consecutive MVAL championship. They all contributed to their successful league season and now they are preparing for the NCS division 1 playoffs.

  •   Congratulations to the Logan wrestling team this past weekend as they earned 2 NCS pennants this past weekend.

  • The boys took 3rd at the NCS team Dual Championships while the girls placed 2nd at the NCS Girls Championships. Congratulations to NCS Champions - An Vo, Julie Tran, Nguyet Tran, and Emily Sandoval. The four girls won their weight division and qualified to the CIF Girls State Meet in Visalia on February 24 & 25.                                                                                     

CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)       

  • Sophomores you took the PSAT now take the Pre ACT!  The test is on Wednesday, March 1 at 8:15 a.m. and the cost is $15.  Sign up in House 3 with Mrs. Harper during your lunch or after school by February 24th.   

  • Seniors FAFSA/Dream Act are due March 2.  Do you need help completing it?  If you have any questions come to the workshops, today during lunch in the Reference Room and after school in the Career Center, then on Wednesday 2/22 during lunch in the Reference room and after school in the Career Center.                                                                     


  • Come to the BSU (Black Student Union) today, after school in Room 529.  All students are welcome. 

  •  Are you interested in community service?  Join Interact Club!  We have a meeting today after school in Room 525.

  •  The Youth Alive Christian Club meets every Thursday after school in Room 418.  Bible Study is every Friday.                                                                                              


  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year.

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now. 

  • Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch.  This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • SAT/ACT mock practice test Saturday February 25 only $10, in the Old Band Room from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. See your counselor for more information! Registration deadline is Friday February 17.

  • Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch.     

  •  Colt Necessities is having a 10 % off sale on everything excluding hats and beanies. Stop by Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday    during 4th and 5th lunch in the Career Center.

  • Do you drive to school?  Then remember that all yellow parking spots are for staff only, with a valid parking permit clearly visible.  Any cars parked in yellow spots during the entire school day that do not have a valid Logan parking permit visible can be issued a parking ticket by UCPD, or towed at the owner's expense.  Please remember to park in the correct designated parking spots.      

  • Summer School applications are now available in each office.  Summer school starts June 19 runs through July 17 no classes on Fridays.     

  • The New Haven Filipino American Society for Education is proud to announce our annual scholarships for 2016-17.  These scholarships were established to support students of Filipino and Filipino-American descent, and their college endeavors. There are several scholarships available, each with different criteria, so come check out which ones fit you! Seniors can pick up an application from the House 3 office. The deadline to submit is March 24.
