Announcement 9/07/16


  •  If you are interested in joining the wrestling team this year, there will be a sign-up meeting on Wednesday, September 14 at 2:00 pm (after school) in room 75. Important information will be given at the meeting. This meeting is for the athletes who are not in a fall sport.  If you have any questions, see Coach Bagaoisan in the boys PE office or Mr. Malcolm in room 75.

  • GIRL’S SOCCER TRYOUT INFORMATION and play dates to be held on Logan’s grass (south) field, otherwise known as the big green, after school at 3:25 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 8, 13, 15. Bring soccer cleats, a water bottle and a great attitude. Goalkeepers (Goalies) are needed! For more information, contact Coach Blair:


  • Buy your ASB stickers now in RM. 67. $25 gets you a free shirt, discounts at all home games and dances, discounts on yearbooks, and much more. Come by RM. 67 at lunch and after school.

CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)   

  • Freshmen interested in running for class office. Come to rm. 67 to talk with Mr. Glaze and pick up your election packets.

  •  ICL juniors and seniors SAT prep is Wednesday during both lunches.  Period 4 in Room 211. Ms. Che’s fifth periodmeet in Library Reference Room.

  • Attention all ICL Students, ICL has a social eventtoday from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Come, have fun and meet new ICL members. 

  • Seniors! If you or your family would like to purchase and design a dedication page in the yearbook, please come to room 223 after school for more details. Prices range from $65-$200 for dedication pages.


  • Inter-Club Council Meetings will be today. This meeting is for all who wish to Renew their club or Start a New Club for the school year. ALL clubs and groups who wish to have a booth at the Club Recruitment Fair, and be active on campus during the year, must attend one of these meetings. The meeting will be in room 67 after school.  Please spread the word.  I will also be sending out the Club Application and Constitution Forms later next week. Please fill them out completely and be as specific as possible. Only Advisors should be submitting these forms. Any questions feel free to email Mr. Glaze.

  • Bonjour!  Come to the first French Club meeting of the year in Room 452 Thursday after school.  You do not have to be a French student to join. 


  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be for the current school year.

  • Health Center: Our appointment slots fill up fast so plan ahead and book your appointments in advance! Also - if you are coming to us in need of first aid - make sure you or your parent turned in the "School Based Health Center Parent/Guardian Consent Form" - we cannot see you without it!

  • The Dead line to apply for the lunch program is Oct 6, You must fill out a new application every year.

  • if you do not you will be dropped from the program and put into a Paid status.

  • Theater Snack Bar, with the work going on in Memorial Square the Snack Bar by the Theater is still open.  

  • JOB ALERT!  SUMMER WORK PERMITS are only good until September 20, 2016.  2016 – 2017 SCHOOL YEAR WORK PERMITS APPLICATIONS are now available in the Career Center in the Colt Necessities Store area, in each House Office 1, 2, 3 and on the James Logan Website. Once completed, return the Work Permit Application with a signed copy of your Social Security Card to Mr. Richberg in room #63 during 4th period lunch only for processing.

  • Yearbook early bird special! Yearbooks are on sale for $90 without ASB sticker and $80 with an ASB sticker after school in room 223. HURRY because prices will go up after September 30!

  • Do you anticipate needing help with your math class this year? The Logan Math Mentoring Program is now accepting applications to request a math mentor. To learn more about the program and apply for a mentor, go to the Academics page of the Logan website and select Math Mentoring. If you still have questions, see Mr. Prucha in room 305.

  • Students, if you have had a change in schedule, please make sure to return your textbooks for the classes you are no longer enrolled in.  As teachers begin new units and lessons, we are in need of textbooks and novels.  Please help by returning your books that you no longer need.

  • If there were a magic pill that enabled you to do all of the following, would you take it? Reduce your stress and aging, increase your metabolism, immunity and attention span, enable you to sleep better and not only be more joyful, but make everyone around you happier….Well, there is no such magic pill, but there is such a powerful practice: Meditation. Beginning on Monday, September 12th, you can participate in Mindful Mondays during lunch, and learn how to meditate. Stay tuned for more details later in the week. 

  • Would you like to know why students do not often graduate from High School?  Come and either be a part of or volunteer at UC Exceed: A GradNation Summit this September 24, 2016 at Conley Caraballo High School from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. There will be free food and drinks, Child care provided, and a Career Fair. For everybody who attends this great event will be able to get community service hours for being there. We also have a Great and Talented Key Note speaker coming to present at this fabulous event that Union City Kids' Zone and a group of Logan Students are going to be putting on together. If you would like to know more information about it, register to attend, or would like to volunteer for this Great Event see Mrs. Martin the Kids' Zone Family Assistant in the Main office for more information or how to sign up or Volunteer! Again, the GradNation Summit is on Sept 24.
