Announcements 10/16/13


Any young man interested in playing basketball this season must see Coach Fortenberry for paper work.  You must have a completed physical packet on file before tryouts begin.  Tryouts are November 11, 12, and 13th.

CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshman)

  1. Juniors- please remind     your parents that this tonight is Junior Parent Night from 7     to 8 p.m. in Performing Arts  
  2. Center. 
  3. Adriana Garibay from UC     Berkeley's EAOP office is assisting students in the computer lab 511     during both lunches and after school tomorrow.  She is helping with college applications     for any school.
  4. Attention Seniors- Don’t     forget, Achievers will be in Colt Court during both lunches today,     tomorrow and Friday to take your cap and gown, class ring, and     announcement orders.  See them while     they are still offering discounted pricing.  Don’t wait till prices go up.


  1. There will be a Close-Up meeting     after school today.  If you’re     thinking of going on the trip to Washington DC or just want to discuss     current events, join us!  New     members are welcome!  We meet in     Room 71.
  2. Want to play     badminton?  The club meets every     Friday after school in Room 224.      See Coach Nguyen for more information about open gym times. 
  3. The Muslim Student     Association Club is meeting tomorrow after school in Room 453.
  4. Is there any music group,     movie or T.V. show that gets you excited?      Come to Fandomonium in Room 301 Thursday after school to talk about     it.
  5. Join Logan’s animal rights     group.  Colts for Animals, after     school tomorrow.  Vegetarians and     non-vegetarians are welcome!
  6. The Computer Science Club     will meet this Thursday in room 475 right after school     at 3:30pm. If you are interested, please stop by.
  7. Bonjour!  Come learn about French culture and     foods in French Club tomorrow after school in Room 452.


  1. Yearbooks are $70 with ASB     and $80 without ASB.  Payment plans     are available.
  2. More and more colleges and     universities are choosing Logan on their high school tour of     presentations. For the most up to date list go to Logan's website under     College/Career Center and click on the College visits link or stop by the     Career Center. If there's a college you'd like to know more about,     presentation sign ups are in the Career Center.
  3. Want to get your driver’s     license?  You need Driver     Education!  Pick up your application     from any house office.  Classes     offered during Thanksgiving and Winter Break.  Call the Adult School 510-489-2185.
  4. Hillview Crest is holding     a Fall Festival and needs volunteers.      For more information check the Career Center’s web page or pick up     a flyer in the Career Center.
  5. PACT tickets are now on     sale. Tickets will be sold on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during both     lunches until the end of October. Tickets cost $25 and can be paid by cash     or check (payable to JLHS). Any questions see Ms. Hull in House 2.
  6. Attention all Club     Advisers, Athletic Coaches, School Group Coordinators, nominations for     Homecoming Court are due today.  Please remember to send nominations     to Ms. Walton at go.mynhusd.org/Homecoming.
  7. SPIRIT WEEK IS COMING!!!      SW is October 21-26th.  Are you ready to dress up, celebrate     our diversity, enjoy our parade, dance all night long, and show our     amazing school spirit.  Stay tuned for details about how to get     involved.
  8. Students who have not     filled out a new application or applied on line for this school year, they     have been put into a Paid status. Please have them apply ASAP or they will     have to pay full price $4.00 until approved. On line is the best, any     question call Carleen @475-3992
  9. Saturday school in Room 93     (next to Little Theater) this Saturday, 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m.  If you need help with homework stop by.

  11. Notre Dame de Namur will     be holding their college presentation at the start of 6th period in the     Career Center today.
