  •  Congratulations to our Boys Basketball Team for their win over Palo Alto High School on Saturday (65-61 in overtime) to become the Nor Cal Champions!  The boys are going to state championship on Friday.  It has been over 30 years since Logan went to state!

  •  Seniors: If you took your Senior photos late and want to make sure that you were included in the yearbook, please stop by 223 Monday, Wednesday and Friday during lunch. Senior pages will be submitted soon and we do not want anyone left oUT.

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.  

  • Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch.  This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch.

  • Do you drive to school?  Then remember that all yellow parking spots are for staff only, with a valid parking permit clearly visible.  Any cars parked in yellow spots during the entire school day that do not have a valid Logan parking permit visible can be issued a parking ticket by UCPD, or towed at the owner's expense.  Please remember

  • The New Haven Pilipino American Society for Education is proud to announce our annual scholarships for 2016-17.  These scholarships were established to support students of Filipino and Filipino-American descent, and their college endeavors. There are several scholarships available, each with different criteria, so come check out which ones fit you! Seniors can pick up an application from the House 3 office. The deadline to submit is March 24. 

  • Time is running out to purchase your yearbook! Please come to room 223 during your lunch Monday, Wednesday or Friday! We will also be at the student window every Friday during your lunch. Prices are $85 with ASB $95 without.

  • New Haven Adult School is offering 28 hours of Driver's Education during Spring Break, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday , April  3rd, 4th & 5th. Cost is $125. Registration forms are located in the front office and each of the house offices. For more information or to register call the Adult School at (510) 489-2185.

  • Mission College will be here to present on Monday, March 20 during 3rd period in the Career Center.  They are located in Santa Clara near Great America and Levi's Stadium.  Mission College's specialty programs include Nursing, Culinary Arts, Fire Technology, Floriculture, Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Mechanical Drafting, Printing & Lithography, Environmental Technology, Community Health Care Worker, Music, and Psychiatric Technician.  Also

SPORTS  

  • Congratulations to Logan soccer stars Zinet Siddiqi and Vanessa Mejia. Zinet recently competed for the women’s National team of Afghanistan at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) tournament held in Kanchanjuna, Shiliguri, Inda.  Zinet was a starter and an impact player for all of the games played at the Kanchenjunga Stadium, which has a capacity of 30 thousand fans. Vanessa was recently selected to the Elite Club National League Player Development Program National Training Camp, held in Portland Oregon. This is a very prestigious honor that girls from the best clubs and teams from all over the United States were invited to. Also included in this event were current U.S. youth national team U-18 members, NSCAA All American players and Parade Magazine High School.

Sales from all grades/staff members will count.The contest will end on 3/24. The quantity will be updated daily and posted in the yearbook cabinet located in the main hall. You can purchase a yearbook in room 223 during lunch every Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Friday during lunch at the Student window.

  • Do you want to learn to play poker?  Then, come to Logan's Gay Straight Alliance tomorrow to celebrate St. Patrick's Day by playing cards and winning fabulous prizes. The fun will commence in Room 207 at 3:30. You don't have to be gay or lesbian to come, and you don't have to know how to play poker. You just have to like to have a great time with great people.

Congratulations to Logan soccer stars Zinet Siddiqi and Vanessa Mejia. Zinet recently competed for the women’s National team of Afghanistan at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) tournament held in Kanchanjuna, Shiliguri, Inda.  Zinet was a starter and an impact player for all of the games played at the Kanchenjunga Stadium, which has a capacity of 30 thousand fans. Vanessa was recently selected to the Elite Club National League Player Development Program National Training Camp, held in Portland Oregon. This is a very prestigious honor that girls from the best clubs and teams from all over the United States were invited to. Also included in this event were current U.S. youth national team U-18 members, NSCAA All American players

  • Sunday, four Logan Students represented the school at the Regional Science Bowl Tournament.  Science Bowl is a quiz-bowl style event sponsored by the US Department of Energy.  Team members were Kristina La, Sophia Li, Elizabeth Lin Prachi Pati.  Although our final numbers would not show it, they performed wonderfully, missing out on winning two of their five matches by a single question.  We also received compliments from the judges, all staff at Sandia National Laboratories, for fielding a team that was all girls.  They were greatly encouraged to see them pursuing their interest in science. Please take a moment to congratulate these students if you see them.

  • Sunday, four Logan Students represented the school at the Regional Science Bowl Tournament.  Science Bowl is a quiz-bowl style event sponsored by the US Department of Energy.  Team members were Kristina La, Sophia Li, Elizabeth Lin Prachi Pati.  Although our final numbers would not show it, they performed wonderfully, missing out on winning two of their five matches by a single question.  We also received compliments from the judges, all staff at Sandia National Laboratories, for fielding a team that was all girls.  They were greatly encouraged to see them pursuing their interest in science. Please take a moment to congratulate these students if you see them.

They are, Aaron Perez-2nd, Joey Ainsworth-2nd, Manavjot Singh-3rd, Lazaro Carrasco-3rd. These four boys will continue on this weekend at the state meet in Bakersfield. Other medalist were Jeremiah Uribe-4th, Noah Mohapatra-4th, Devin Garcia-7th.

  • Summer School applications are now available in each office.  Summer school starts June 19 runs through July 17 no classes on Fridays.          

  • The New Haven Pilipino American Society for Education is proud to announce our annual scholarships for 2016-17.  These scholarships were established to support students of Filipino and Filipino-American descent, and their college endeavors. There are several scholarships available, each with different criteria, so come check out which ones fit you! Seniors can pick up an application from the House 3 office. The deadline to submit is March 24.

  • Mecha is collecting cereal for the next two weeks to help fill the Kid Zone pantry to help feed the displaced families in Union City.  See Ms. Esquivez for more information.  You can drop off cereal to any of the following classes 407, 403, 444, 447, 503, 507, 201, or 209.
