CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)    

  • Class of 2017, we would like very much to include you in our June 1st Honors Convocation celebration so we are asking you to please share your accomplishments, scholarships and awards with us by filling out the online WOOHOO Form, which can be found on the College & Career and Seniors-Post-Secondary webpages under the Counselor's Corner link.  The deadline to submit your form is Friday, May 12 so don't delay.  Please see your counselor if you have any questions. 

  • ATTN. SENIORS:  Please check the list of Senior names on the Main Office Lobby glass doors leading to Colt Court to confirm the spelling of your name for your diploma.  If your name is spelled incorrectly, or if there is any other error, please get a form from Ms. Quintal to make corrections. The deadline for corrections is tomorrow.  

  • PLEASE NOTE: Diplomas are a legal document and may only contain your legal name.  No changes will be made to add nicknames, step-parent surnames, remove names, etc., unless you can provide a copy of your birth certificate or have LEGALLY changed your name and can provide a copy of the court document with the official “Filed” stamp.

  • Juniors, if you are interested in learning more about different college from across the country, please sign up to attend one of the two WACAC Spring College Faires happening on Thursday, May 4th at Mission College in Santa Clara OR Friday, May 5th at CSU East Bay.  This Faire is open to all juniors on a first come first serve basis. Field trip applications are available in the Career Center and are due on Tuesday, May 2.

  •  Bible Study is today during both lunches in Room 418.

  • The Staglion club, a creative writing & journalism club, is looking for passionate writers interested in displaying their work, whether fictional, based on current events or opinionated. We welcome any unique work and anyone interested in a second opinion. We post our work at thestaglion.com. If interested, contact 525henhuyn@nhusd.k12.ca.us to submit or ask questions. We meet next Wednesday 5/5/17 and meet regularly every other Wednesday in Room 304.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year. 

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.  

  • Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch.  This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch. 

  • Students, if you drive to school and park your car on campus, please make sure that you park in designated student parking spaces.  Parking spots that are striped in yellow are for staff parking only.  UCPD will routinely visit our campus and issue citations to cars parked in staff parking spots that do not have proper parking permit displayed.  The parking lot next to the swim complex has ample space for all students parking on campus. 

  • The Ballet Folklórico will be having its annual Concierto de Primavera (Spring Dance Concert) Friday May 12th 8pm in the Center of the Performing Arts. They will be premiering new dances from various regions of Mexico. Live music will be provided by Mariachi and Puerto Rican Folklórico musicians. Two local children groups will also perform. Tickets will be reserve seating this year; Adults $20; $15 Senior Citizens; $12 for students with I.D. and $10 for children under 12 years.  Please contact Jaime Huertas by emailing him at Logan or personal email<salsahuertas@yahoo.com> More information on the website. 

  • Ladies, do you still need a dress for prom?  No need to go too far! Logan's princess club has hundreds of new and slightly used prom dresses available for you at no cost. Bring a friend! The closet is in the old choir room, inside of the little theater building. It will be open on Wednesday and Fridays after school. See Ms Esquivez in Room 407, Ms. Bodadilla in Room 507 or Ms. Dal Porto in Room 42 for more information. 

  • Yearbooks are going fast! Get yours before they sell out.  Purchase them in Room 223 on Wednesdays or Fridays at lunch or after school $85 with ASB $95 without.  We will also be at the student window every Friday at lunch.

  • Logan High School Cheer Try-Out Information meeting tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. in the Spot.

  • Class of 2017, we would like very much to include you in our June 1st Honors Convocation celebration so we are asking you to please share your accomplishments, scholarships and awards with us by filling out the online WOOHOO Form, which can be found on the College & Career and Seniors-Post-Secondary webpages under the Counselor's Corner link.  The deadline to submit your form is Friday, May 12 so don't delay.  Please see your counselor if you have any questions.

They will be premiering new dances from various regions of Mexico. Live music will be provided by Mariachi and Puerto Rican Folklórico musicians. Two local children groups will also perform.   • CHOIR AUDITIONS!!  Auditions for the 2018 Choirs will be held in the Choir Room (721) beginning at 3:30 pm on April 17, April 20th and April 21st.   Auditions for Advanced Concert Choir and Jazz Singers will be on April 17. Be prepared to sing a one minute audition song. Auditions for Show Choir will be on April 20 and April 21st. You will also sing a one minute audition song and learn choreography. For Show Choir, you must attend both days. If you have any questions, please see Ms McShane in Room 721. 

  • Ladies, do you still need a dress for prom?  No need to go too far! Logan's princess club has hundreds of new and slightly used prom dresses available for you at no cost. Bring a friend! Please attend to receive information about 4 year and 2 year college requirements and financial aid.  College representatives from the UC, CSU, community college and private universities will be presenting information about their respective college system.  In addition, they will be available to answer your questions.  Come at 5:45pm to have a slice of pizza before the event begins!  Stay until the end for a chance to win a $500 scholarship! Three scholarships will be awarded.  We hope you can attend.

  •  Seniors: If you took your Senior photos late and want to make sure that you were included in the yearbook, please stop by 223 Monday, Wednesday and Friday during lunch. Senior pages will be submitted soon and we do not want anyone left out.

CLUBS

  •  Come join Filipino Youth Association meets every Tuesday after school in Room 414.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year. SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.  

  • Students the hallways in the Main Building are closed during lunch.  This includes the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s classrooms.  If you need to go across from Colt Court to the 200s or 300s or the other way around, please use the hallway by the library or go around the main building.  The hallways are closed so that classes that are being held in the Main Building are not disturbed during lunch.

  • Students, if you are holding on to your completed community service forms, please turn them into the box in the Career Center during lunch.

  • Do you drive to school?  Then remember that all yellow parking spots are for staff only, with a valid parking permit clearly visible.  Any cars parked in yellow spots during the entire school day that do not have a valid Logan parking permit visible can be issued a parking ticket by UCPD, or towed at the owner's expense.  Please remember.

  • New Haven Adult School is offering 28 hours of Driver's Education during Spring Break, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday , April  3rd, 4th & 5th. Cost is $125. Registration forms are located in the front office and each of the house offices. For more information or to register call the Adult School at (510) 489-2185.

  • Mission College will be here to present on Monday, March 20 during 3rd period in the Career Center.  They are located in Santa Clara near Great America and Levi's Stadium.  Mission College's specialty programs include Nursing, Culinary Arts, Fire Technology, Floriculture, Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Mechanical Drafting, Printing & Lithography, Environmental Technology, Community Health Care Worker, Music, and Psychiatric Technician.  Also College of San Mateo will be here to present on Friday, March 24 during 3rd period in the Career Center.  They are well known for the following programs: Nursing, Fire Science, Cosmetology, Dental Assisting, Electronics, Kinesiology, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Accounting, and Psychology.

  • Do you still need community service hours?  Here's your chance...Union City Kids' Zone will be hosting its 3rd annual Open House Celebration on March 25, 2017.   • DO YOU WANT TO TAKE AN AP TEST? AP TEST REGISTRATION IS NOW! This is a reminder that you have until Friday March 27 @ 8:00pm to register for AP tests!   •  Congratulations to our Boys Basketball Team for their win over Palo Alto High School on Saturday (65-61 in overtime) to become the Nor Cal Champions!  The boys are going to state championship today.  It has been over 30 years since Logan went to state.

  • The New Haven Pilipino American Society for Education is proud to announce our annual scholarships for 2016-17.  These scholarships were established to support students of Filipino and Filipino-American descent, and their college endeavors. There are several scholarships available, each with different criteria, so come check out which ones fit you! Seniors can pick up an application from the House 3 office. The deadline to submit is March 24.
