Announcement 6/2/17

   

 

SPORTS  

  • This past weekend Junior, Hannah-Sophia Hall won individual NCS titles in both the Discus and the Shot Put with throws of 152' 7" and 43' 10" respectively..  Senior, Jered Espanola won an individual title in the Pole Vault clearing 15' 4".  Both will be traveling to Buchanan High School in Clovis this weekend to compete at the Track and Field state meet.  Junior, Demisha Simmons-Price will be joining them as an alternate in the shot put as well after placing 4th in the finals.  

  • In total our Track and Field team had 21 athletes place and/or make the finals in their events.  

CLASS (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen)    

  • If you are taking Honors Physiology and/or AP Biology next year, please come to our brief informational meeting this Thursday or Friday after school in room 204. We look forward to meeting you!

  • There is an important Announcement for all students who signed up for AP Chemistry next year.  There is an important meeting on Thursday May 25 at 3:30 in Mrs. Gallup’s Room 422.  Information about Summer Assignments will be discussed.  

  • Students needing waivers for the SAT or ACT need to see Ms. Hull in House 2.

  • Remember to bring your testing ticket and current ID when taking the SAT or ACT tests.  Current ID can be a Driver's License, State ID, Passport or School ID.  School ID must be the actual ID (not a photocopy), and it must be the current school year. 

  • SAT AND ACT PREP RESOURCES: Need SAT or ACT Prep resources?  Go to James Logan.Org.to join a James Logan SAT or ACT Prep class.  Click the link at the top of the home page or go to student resources for more information.  You will need your student Gmail account to join a Prep class.  Joining is free, sign up now.

  • Come by room 223 if you have any questions! Yearbooks are still on sale for $85 with ASB and $95 without.  We are getting close to selling out, so do not wait until it is too late!

  • New Haven Adult School is having two - 3-day Driver's Education classes.  June 19th, 20th & 21st and August 7th, 8th & 9th.

  • There will be a Cross Country meeting Thursday, June 1 on the track after school.

  • The badminton team placed third at NCS this weekend.  Three teams placed in the top 3 and qualified to move forward. Steven Nguyen and Samrat Yadav in boys doubles, Ryan Chung and Vicky Liu in mixed doubles and Tony Luizhou in boys singles. Good luck next week at Norcals!

  • Congratulations to the Track and Field Teams 43th straight MVAL Championship- all levels, 52 MVAL Champions, 161 MVAL Placers.

  • James Logan 11th Grader Vanessa Mejia has verbally committed to Santa Clara University for the fall of 2018 in women's soccer. SCU are perennially a top 10 Division I NCAA program. The Broncos have been to the "final four" ten times and were national champions in 2001. Numerous Bronco alumni have won women’s FIFA world cup and Olympic gold medal titles, as well as play professionally all over the world.    Congratulations Vanessa!
