SPORTS

  • James Logan will be hosting the Boys North Coast Section Wrestling Championships on Friday and Saturday.  Wrestling will begin at 8:30 am both days. Come support the Logan wrestlers when you get a chance.  Students and Staff - traffic and parking will be impacted that Friday morning.  Please plan accordingly on that day.  

  • Girls Wrestling, Good luck to the 4 girls that are competing at the CIF State Wrestling Meet in Visalia on Friday and Saturday.  They are Julie Tran, An Vo, Emily Sandoval - rank 2nd in state, and Nguyet Tran - rank 1st in state.

  • The Youth AliveBible Study is every Friday during both lunches in Room 418.

  • The New Haven Pilipino American Society for Education is proud to announce our annual scholarships for 2016-17.  These scholarships were established to support students of Filipino and Filipino-American descent, and their college endeavors. There are several scholarships available, each with different criteria, so come check out which ones fit you! Seniors can pick up an application from the House 3 office. The deadline to submit is March 24.

  • Mecha is collecting cereal for the next two weeks to help fill the Kid Zone pantry to help feed the displaced families in Union City.  See Ms. Esquivez for more information.  You can drop off cereal to any of the following classes 407, 403, 444, 447, 503, 507, 201, or 209

  •  Congratulations to the varsity girls’ soccer team who won their second consecutive MVAL championship. They all contributed to their successful league season and now they are preparing for the NCS division 1 playoffs.

  •  Congratulations to the Logan wrestling team this past weekend as they earned 2 NCS pennants this past weekend.

  • The boys took 3rd at the NCS team Dual Championships while the girls placed 2nd at the NCS Girls Championships. Congratulations to NCS Champions - An Vo, Julie Tran, Nguyet Tran, and Emily Sandoval. The four girls won their weight division and qualified to the CIF Girls State Meet in Visalia on February 24 & 25.

  •   ICL student council is having a free make your own Valentine’s Day card workshop in the 200's plaza today.  Our goal is to provide opportunity for all students to be able to give and or receive a valentine from a friend or someone they care about. No money is required, just come out, decorate some valentine’s cards to give to someone special, and share the love.

  •  ICL student council is having a free make your own Valentine’s Day card workshop in the 200's plaza this Monday Feb 13 and Tuesday Feb 14.  Our goal is to provide opportunity for all students to be able to give and or receive a valentine from a friend or someone they care about.   • Good luck to the Logan Girls Wrestling Friday and Saturday at the North Coast Section Championships. The lady grapplers are trying to win their 5th consecutive NCS title. The top three finisher will qualify to the State meet in Visalia.

  •  Congratulations to the Varsity, JV and Girls wrestling team as they beat American on Wednesday night. The Varsity won 60-15, the JV won 55-12, and the girls won 30-0. The Colts won their 11th consecutive MVAL Title.

  • The varsity boys also qualified to Saturday's NCS Team Dual Championships in Berkeley.

  • District African American Advisory (DAAA) to Host Zumba Fundraiser Mark your calendars!  DAAA will host a Zumba Night to raise money for the Dream Scholarship on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School (Multipurpose Room).  Join former Logan Teacher, Jacki Sprague and fellow instructors for an exciting event!  $10 cash at the door. If you are unable to attend the event, you can still support the students with a donation using the New Haven Foundation PayPal (please specify "The Dream Scholarship").  Thank you in advance for the support.

  •   Congratulations to the Logan Wrestling team for beating Newark last Wednesday in a dual meet. The varsity won 64-19 and the JV won 66-6. Come support the team as they dual Irvington at home on Wednesday.  JV starts at 5:00 p.m. and varsity at 6:00 p.m.

  • Congratulations to Aaron Perez for placing at the tough Doc Buchanan invitational and Temecula, along with Joey Ainsworth who also placed at Temecula.

  •   Anyone interested in trying out for the swim team is welcome to participate in our free pre-season swim team clinic after school at the pool from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm now through February 3.  The only requirement is that your swim paper work and Family ID registration must be completed.  See Coach Lockwood in Room 424.
